My Auto (also shown as My Auto Pro) is a personal car maintenance, repair, and fuel tracking app. Developer contact: yrikangarski@gmail.com.
This policy describes what data the app uses, where it is stored, which services process it, and how you can export or delete it. The app can work offline on your device. Cloud backup, Google sign-in, and the AI assistant are optional.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to the Android app published as My Auto / My Auto Pro (com.urijakusenko.myauto) and to related cloud features provided through the same app.
The app is intended for personal vehicle records. It is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent age of digital consent in your country). Do not enter a child’s personal data.
2. Data we process
2.1 Data you enter (stored locally by default)
- Vehicle details: brand, model, license plate, VIN (optional), year, mileage, car photo.
- Repair history: dates, mileage, work titles, comments, costs, and photos of work.
- Fuel entries: date, odometer, liters, cost, notes.
- App settings: language (Russian/English), currency, onboarding flags, chart preferences.
This data stays on the device until you use an optional feature that sends it elsewhere (cloud sync, AI assistant, export/share, or crash reporting).
2.2 Photos
The app asks for camera and photo library access only when you take or pick a photo for a car or a repair. Photos are compressed on the device. Previews may be stored separately from full-size copies. Photos are not used for advertising.
2.3 Account data (only if you sign in with Google)
If you sign in with Google, Firebase Authentication may process:
- Google account identifier
- Email address
- Display name and profile photo URL (if provided by Google)
Sign-in is optional. You can keep a local-only garage without an account.
2.4 Cloud data (optional, currently for Pro subscribers)
If you enable cloud sync after signing in, the app stores in Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore:
- Your garage and fuel records
- Compressed photos (as data blobs tied to your user ID)
- A small number of previous cloud versions (backups)
- Subscription entitlement status used to check Pro access
Cloud documents are stored under your Firebase user ID. Other users cannot read or write your documents through the published Firestore rules. Cloud sync is not required to use local repair and fuel logs.
2.5 AI assistant (optional, currently for Pro subscribers)
If you use the in-app AI assistant, the app sends a request to Firebase AI (Gemini). A typical request may include:
- Your question and language
- Photos you attach to the chat
- Vehicle context: brand, model, plate, VIN (if entered), year, mileage
- A limited recent history of repairs and fuel entries
The assistant is informational only. It is not a dealer diagnosis and does not replace a mechanic. Do not send sensitive personal data in AI chats beyond what is needed for car maintenance.
2.6 Purchases
If you subscribe, Google Play Billing processes the purchase. The app stores a local cache of subscription status. The developer does not receive your full payment card details.
2.7 Crash and diagnostics data
In release builds the app uses Firebase Crashlytics. If the app crashes, Google may receive stack traces, app version, device/OS information, and technical identifiers needed to group crashes. Crash collection is disabled in debug builds. This data is used to fix bugs, not for advertising.
2.8 App integrity
The app uses Firebase App Check (Play Integrity on Android release builds) to reduce abuse of Firebase APIs. This may involve device/app integrity signals processed by Google.
3. Why we process data
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (typical) |
|---|---|---|
| Provide the garage, repair, and fuel journal | Local vehicle, repair, fuel, and photo data | Contract / your request to use the app |
| Optional cloud backup and restore | Account + cloud copies of records and photos | Contract / your request after sign-in |
| Optional AI answers about your car | Prompt, attached photos, vehicle/repair/fuel context | Contract / your request when you open AI |
| Process a Pro subscription | Purchase tokens/status via Google Play | Contract |
| Improve stability | Crash logs | Legitimate interest in running a reliable app |
| Protect the service | App Check / authentication | Legitimate interest / security |
We do not sell your data. We do not show third-party ads. We do not use advertising SDKs.
4. Third-party processors
The app uses Google services. When you use the related feature, data is processed by Google under Google’s terms and privacy policy:
- Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, App Check, Crashlytics, Firebase AI / Gemini
- Google Play — app distribution and in-app purchases
- Google Sign-In — optional account login
These providers may process data on servers outside your country. The developer does not operate an independent analytics or advertising platform.
5. Sharing initiated by you
You can export or share files from the app (PDF repair history, Excel, fuel spreadsheet, or an encrypted JSON backup). Sharing uses the system share sheet on your device. The destination is chosen by you. We do not receive that share unless you send it to us.
Local encrypted backups are protected with a password you set (AES-GCM). If you lose the password, the backup cannot be recovered.
6. Storage period
- On device: until you delete the records, uninstall the app, or clear local data.
- Cloud copies: until you overwrite them, restore another version, delete cloud data, or delete your account.
- Crash logs: retained by Firebase Crashlytics according to Google’s product retention.
- AI requests: processed to generate a reply; we do not keep a separate developer-side chat archive outside the app session. Google’s Firebase AI / Gemini rules also apply.
- Purchase records: retained by Google Play as required for billing.
7. Your choices and deletion
Inside the app you can:
- Edit or delete cars, repair days, work items, photos, and fuel entries
- Use the app without Google sign-in
- Export a local encrypted backup
- Sign out of your Google account
- Delete the account (this removes the Firebase account and associated cloud data the app can reach, and currently also clears local garage/fuel data on that device)
Uninstalling the app removes local files on that device. It does not by itself delete a cloud copy if you previously synced. To remove cloud data, use Delete account in the app, or email yrikangarski@gmail.com.
To request access, correction, or deletion, email the same address and describe the Google account used in the app.
8. Permissions
- Camera: take a photo of a car or repair.
- Photos / storage (where required by Android version): pick images from the gallery.
- Internet: optional cloud sync, sign-in, subscription checks, crash reports, and AI.
The app does not need contacts, microphone, location, or SMS for its current features.
9. Security
- Local garage, fuel, and subscription cache use encrypted on-device storage.
- Local backup files you export are encrypted with your password.
- Cloud access is limited to the signed-in owner of the Firebase user ID.
- We use App Check to reduce unauthorized API use.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Keep your Google account and backup passwords protected. Prefer official app stores.
10. International users
If you are in the EEA, UK, or a similar jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Contact yrikangarski@gmail.com to exercise these rights for data the developer controls.
11. Changes
We may update this policy when the app’s data practices change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes should be reflected in the Play Console Data safety form as well.
